why are people not buying from my site?

I am getting traffic after starting adwords , about 100/day but people are not buying from me.. they come and move around the site, spend time but no one buys anything or contacts me ! any ideas why? my link is www.therugfactory.in

    maybe it doesn’t appeal to many people. why do u think there are not a lot of rug online business. Not a lot of people buy a rug nowadays, and if they do i think they would aim for a brick and mortar store…..I don’t know but from my perspective your online store will fail, because for one you probably don’t have advertisement to the website, and second this won’t appeal to many people…

    Well, first of all, your site speed makes people want to drive to a rug store instead.

    If only it were as easy as setting up adwords and geting sales. The rule of thumb for conversions is 1%. So, theoretically you should be making 1 sale a day. However, I’ve been floating around about 0.1%. 1 sale per 1000 hits.

    Why don’t you try setting up an ebay account? If you already have one, why don’t you use it to drive traffic to your website.

    If you’ve never heard of the ebay guru, Jim Cockrum, I would strongly suggest that you sign up for his newsletter or buy his ebooks. He uses the power of ebay to funnel massive amounts of traffic to not only his auctions, but to his off ebay business (without breaking the rules).

    You could also use ebay classified ads to advertise your site. It’s only $10 a month and you’ll receive close to about 2000 hits per month. That’s 1/2 cent per click. What are you paying? 10-20 cents a click? You could also run it simultaneously.

    Well I must say that your SEO Techniques are quite good.
    But yor prices are on the expensive side.
    Most people that buy rugs like to see them first hand and feel any texure they may have.
