What is the BEST web hosting services presently on the market? Also Do I need to purchase a domain name with a hosting services or can I buy just a hosting service and not worry about a DOMAIN NAME?

    ok, first thing you will need to understand how the web works, the domain you own, you will have to buy one, I will explain how to later, is like your address on your house, it tells other computers how to find information, the hosting service is like the property to put the house on and the web page or html file is like the house, so I assume you already have your web page created or know how, if you don’t let me know and I can get you going in the right direction. So you will need to buy hosting, all that means is their is a computer out their that has a operating system (like windows or linux) on it that is difrent then the regular operating system, they usally call them "windows server" or Linux server" , it runs all the time and stores on its hard drive web pages that can be viewed by other computers when they enter your domain, when you buy a hosting service all you are doing is buying space on that computer, so its not as complicated as it seems, next you will need to buy a domain, you can do this seprate through a company or more then likly your host will alow you one or two for free when you sign up, I would wait to buy your domain when you get your host so you don’t run into any other problems, then you need what is called an ftp program, it stands for file transfer protacal, it is the means you will use to upload files to your server, I use a free one I found oneline that works well, I included a link at the bottom for you to download it if you want, I would because mkost good ones out their you will have to pay for. when you connect your ftp program or "client" to the server it will need a few things from you, first it will need a username and password, you can call or email your servers support and ask them for this information, also you will need a name, ftp server, and ftp port, in most cases the name and ftp server will just be the ip address of the server, if you ask they can give you this too, and the ftp port is almost always 21. this should be all you need to get up in running, as for selecting a good host, I included a link to the one I use, they are a good one, they are not too expencive only 94 dollars a year if you only want one site, and you get a free domain with that which is worth about 15 dollars.     Yes , you’ll needa domain
    Well , there is hostgator , google host yahoo and godaddy.
    But the most recommended and best web host so far is http://www.NetworkJuiceHosting.com ; Network Juice.

    They now offer plans starting around $0.99/mo for a great amount of diskspace plus everything else unlimited. Plus they’ve manage to keep up 99% Uptime.

    Google.com not so sure , But i know there’s lots of files they do not support , no Cpanel , and i don’t know how come , but they have been receiving downtimes lately in their host servers.

    yahoo , let me just say it’s the worst web host ever ,you can’t even host the amount of domains you want to host . Including FatCow.com. The downtime is way to much , and many files are un-compatible in fatcow for some reason.

    To buy a domain , the most recommended site is godaddy , but not for it’s hosting!! I Tell you !!!.

    I thought i would try something different and answer your question as simply as possible.

    Yes you need a domain, your dot com name. You shouldnt buy it first or seperately.
    If you want a real website, you need a web host.
    The web host includes the domain name free of charge.

    All the hosts are about the same. They are all fast, they all brag near 0 downtime, they all offer about the same things and they are all dirt cheap right now.

    I like Justhost. They give you an incredible package for about 3.95 a month. In fact they give you a domain name for life. Most of the ones you buy are 1 year.

    so thats it. If you want a good website, get a web host. The first thing you will do with your host is pick your domain name.

    winninghosting.com is great because the staff is really great about answering any and all questions from folks with not so much experience in running a site. Very helpful. Also, they don’t require that you have a domain name in order to have your own site. But they do help with that too.

    The best is dedicated hosting from a company such as Rackspace.

    The most popular host or with the most "buzz" is mediatemple.

    For your purposes however, I think you should look into the cheapest hosts. If your site is not large enough to warrant at least one IT professional who knows this stuff – then a free or 4 dollar a month host will be more than ample for your purposes- im serious.

    Domain names and hosting providers can (and are often) purchased separately. Think of buying hosting service as renting space on a server. That is where you keep the website.
