What is the best web hosting service for a small monthly fee?

I really want to start my own personal website for friends and family with the hope of one day perhaps doing some more. So what would be the best service out there with the possibility of upgrading to multiple accounts and adding more domains later? I’m really getting confused by all the different companies out there so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I vote for yahoo too for the entire package, although small ISPs are OK too these days. If you want to have your friends or acquaitences host your content but only want to get a domain somewhere else, GoDaddy is the cheapest. But their service for content hosting is not that great.

Check out 1and1 Hosting, http://order.1and1.com/xml/order/Hosting;jsessionid=8BD0FF9BC9312198607BD2C00E5154C7.TC61b?__frame=_top&__lf=Static I know several people who have used them and they deliver on uptime promises. I also use Hasweb which so far has afforded me 95% uptime, http://www.hasweb.com/ either of these hosts are excellent, I wouldn’t go anywhwere else. That is if you are looking to build a true website (and not a bloglike page).

I like yahoo’s web-hosting. To see an example, I made my own website using yahoo-web-hosting for about $10 a month. My hobby website is: http://www.secretopinions.com just to give you an example of stuff you can do…
