Is there a way to make my Sprint PPC-6700 work with Verizon Service?
So here’s the situation. I have a Sprint PPC-6700 and have had it for 9 months. I have recently switched carriers and gone with Verizon because I’ve recently moved to a rural area and Verizon seems to be the best carrier out here for wireless. Verizon essentially sells the same phone which is the XV-6700. I asked Verizon reps could they just put my Verizon number on my PPC-670 and unfortunately they’re not allowed to do it. So, I’m left with the choice of either selling my PPC and buying the XV, trading with someone that wants to do the opposite ( I guess I’ll look on the internet trading sites or craigslist and/or post there), or somehow reprogram my PPC and make it work with Verizon. Any help or ideas is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!
No that isn’t possible. Sprint and verizon use different Sims Cards. Your going to have to sale your phone and buy the Verizon phone.
There probably is a way, but you will never find it out! I’m sorry to say that, but when I worked for Cingular, people would come in all the time and ask this very same question. They cell phone companies do this, so you will have to buy their high-priced phone and they make more money. If you could take a Sprint phone, and make it work with a Verizon network, then Verizon would be losing a lot of money.
If the Verizon phones have chip in the back, then you could use your cingular phone and use it with the chip from the Verizon phone. You would have to buy a cheap Verizon phone, or get one off the Internet. This is all I can tell you. Good luck!
I’m not sure, but you might be able to get whatever their base model phone is (they will usually give you one free with your service – though they may make you sign up for a two-year contract to get it) and then just pop the sim card out and put it in your sprint phone (if they use the same kind of card–research that a bit online).
Of course, what I would do (since I’m a jerk) is tell them that they are going to program my old phone, or I’m going elsewhere for service – (make sure to be loud enough that their manager hears). That may or may not change their mind, but at least you will have stood up against their retarted policy.
Go to a Verizon store and tell them that you want to activate your phone.
Don’t tell them where it came from or where you got it.
Tell the rep that activating your phone is a perquisite for you keeping their service, and remind them that you have 30 days from sign up to cancel your account without paying any penalties.
Make note of the name on the name tag, and refer to the person by name. This will make them more inclined to help you, and also carry the subtle knowledge that if you cancel, their name will be included as one of the reasons why.
Finally, tell them that if they can’t activate your phone, then you want a comparable phone for free. You’d be amazed how much leeway they really have when dealing with this situation.
Stay friendly as long as you can, but don’t be afraid to become an SOB if the rep won’t give you a comparable phone.
Point out you want XYZ features and claim that you don’t have the funds to buy a new phone.
And next time, make sure they activate your new phone when you sign up. Don;t hope they can do it after the fact.
Remember, to activate the non Verizon phone, they’ll probably need to have the phone in one of their stores so they can read it’s serial number and other data. They can’t activate your phone, over the phone.
every phone company has what they call there chip installed in the phone programed to their specific network. if verizon or sprint were gsm phones unlocking the codes and phone, yes you could bounce off each network, however cdma phones are hard to unlock. if they can be unlocked at all. this is whats causing your trouble, all carriers can have the sane phone. its the network they are programed to. goog luck and hope this helped
No, no, no. Sprint phones are not compatible with the Verizon Wireless network or vice versa. Unlike GSM networks (like Cingular or Tmobile), Sprint/Verizon Wireless don’t use SIM cards. There is no way to make a CDMA phone work on a competing carriers network. It has nothing to do with getting a carrier employee to do something special or them being "allowed to," or not telling them where your phone is from. The technologies aren’t compatible. If you’re going with Verizon Wireless to have to get a phone that’s made for Verizon Wireless service.
Look this up anywhere on the internet. Everyone will tell you the same thing (except apparently here where people like to guess)
no way, Sprint phones only work on the Sprint network.
