Posted on November 28th, 2009 by eranio
I need the names of at least 5 of the best web host, and I don’t mean like yahoo, or some web hosting service that provides me with 120 GB of storages, because I’m going to need several TB of storage I am also going to need a super fast connection does anyone know of any web hosting on that level?

You’ll want a dedicated server or managed server. One and one is a good option. Host dime and GoDaddy can give you some competitive options. You may also want to consider doing it in-house. ColorTRAQ can give you competitive pricing for a T1 line or a co-location. You’ll have to write (email) or call the sales departments to get quotes in most cases. While I’m sure they’re capable of providing multi-TB storage, they only provide pricing on the Internet up to ~300 GB.
You’ll want to get a more accurate projection of your usage before quoting it out. The only application that I could see using that much storage would be a multimedia server with over 200 movies.
You should consider going to http://www.hostgumbo.com … There you can view an up to date pricing and incentives comparison chart for the top 2008 web hosting companies, starting at $3.96 per month with free for life domain names. Plus HostGumbo contributes $25 (cash in your pocket) to the cost of your hosting plan when you choose your web host.
I personally prefer http://www.hostgumbo.com/webhostingpad.html … they offer:
- Free Domain for life!
- 99% uptime
- 1700 GB Disk Space
- 17000 GB Bandwidth
- Unbeatable Pricing at only $3.96 per month with their new promotion!
- Free Ad Credits, $25 Google and $30 Yahoo!
Feel free to email me if you have any questions or just want to talk about hosting and websites in general. And remember, always do your research before you buy.
Good luck!

Hey Alphajack,
It is good that you are doing your research. Be sure to include the new type of webhosting below before you make your decision.

Well first off there are no 5 best web hosts, most shared web hosting is not that great for the type of project you are describing. For that amount of storage you are going to need a dedicated server and it is going to cost a lot, here are some dedicated providers I have used…
http://www.rackspace.com – the best but expensive, you call and they pick up, awesome service and can do custom setups.
http://www.uk2.net/ – servers in both the usa and UK, budget but still not bad
http://www.hostgator.com – server in texas, budget but still great, been using them for 3 years and haven’t had any probs.
http://www.lpdedicated.com – another good budget option
http://www.fastservers.net – good middle of line one, they can do a lot of custom configs like what you need.
http://www.liquidweb.com/ – highly recommended for custom and anything, very flexible and great support.
Try midphase.
If you need superfast – you’ll need a dedicated server. On shared servers you are at the mercy of other websites that share you server.
Most hosting companies have fast connections, but imagine if you shared a server with YouTube (not that it will happen because they are on a dedicated server, but just as an example).
Your site would work slow because YouTube would be hogging all the bandwidth and cpu time.
If you want the fastest you can go, you need dedicated, but it’s expensive.
I use http://www.site5.com/in.php?id=45612.
Unlimited Sites
1,500 GB WebSpace
1 TB Bandwidth (Yes with a "T")
That’s what I use and it’s perfectly fine for me.
You might also want to check out yahoo’s new promotion. I have not looked into it but sounds good
