How can I get website traffic?

Feb 19 2010

Someone help. I have created a new social network site but the problem is, I need traffic! I have tried everything including SEO, writing articles, joining in forums, opt-in-emails & yet, seem not to be driving in traffic. I’m aware that there are other alternative like google adwords but, I’m worried about the fees & in regards to getting traffic from other social networking sites, I feel that I shouldn’t because well, I don’t want other social networks to hear about my website because of rivalry purposes.
Please help, I don’t know what to do. I am tempted to try buying traffic as a last resort but they are most probably going to be scams.

  2. SEO and advertisements.

  3. You need to pick strategic keywords and have those keywords SEO’d, and you can expect results overnight. SEO takes time and if you aren’t optimizing the best keywords you are wasting your time. I recommend a product called LotusJump that helps people do their own SEO with a variety of different tasks to generate traffic & help boost keyword rankings.

  4. To get traffic , you should have google rankings for your keywords ..

Increase your back links .. get the best content for your website

  5. I would say the best place to Get Free Traffic to your site is Smiley Traffic,
    I usually get 3k-4k hits a day.

  6. You’re… afraid… that other social networks will hear about your site and start a rivalry? Dude, this is the internet. If your site’s worth visiting, your competition hears about it eventually. Besides which, a rivalry is exactly what you WANT with competing sites. If you have no traffic, there’s no rivalry. It’s when people start hearing about you and going to your site instead of your competition’s sites that rivalry starts… and you’ve already pretty much stated that traffic is your ultimate goal here.

If you want to attract social networkers, you need to advertise where they hang out. On social networking sites. Advertising to people who aren’t interested in social networking isn’t going to do you any good.
