  1. Your question takes me back 10 years in time to when I first decided to make my living online. I started out wanting to be a "successful internet marketer". There are so many methods available to market something online and almost every one of them can help. There are two main reasons why most people are not successful when it comes to internet marketing.

One is because, they are more than often misled by other so called internet marketers. After following bogus instructions or paying for less than adequate marketing services, there business goes nowhere fast and they eventually give up. The second and most common reason is the lack of determination or passion as someone else called it already. Internet marketing is not a 2hr a day job. It takes a lot of time and dedication.

What I have learned is that, to trully be successful as an internet marketer, you must offer internet users something unique. If you have a unique product or service that offers real value to the customer, you are almost sure to meet success, unless of course, you have horrible customer service.

If you are selling common products or services, you must provide some sort of unique incentive. Whether it is below average prices, better than average customer service, or a complimentary dinner mint, you must offer something that a customer considers an extra value.

Two years ago, my brother in-law decided to sell headstones online. 6 months into it, his website( HeadstonesUSA.com ) was earning about $20,000/mo in sales and he had to ask me to help him market his site. $20,000 sounds like a lot to most, but considering his operating costs, and the initial $1,000,000 that he and his partner spent to get the business started, he was facing dire straits.

I worked on his marketing campaign for 6 full weeks, and then I gave him some advise so he could continue marketing his website on his own. He happily informed me a few days ago that he had a little over $1,000,000 in sales this year.! If thats not success, I don’t know what is.

  2. no. people don’t go online to be marketed and bombarded with ads. yahoo is slowly learning this and is scaling back on their ads.

  3. If you really want to become successful in internet marketing you need to do a couple of things first. You need to sit down and think what you are passionate about then you need to take your knowledge base and expand it around the type of business you want to go into. If there is no passion, you will eventually start doubting yourself and start hating the whole process as you need to spend a lot of time promoting, advertising and marketing. You will also have to decide how much time are you prepared to give up in order to start your venture. Remember if you do start your own online venture it will become your business, and to make it a success you need to spend a fair amount of time promoting, advertising etc etc
People to tend to get involved with an opportunity and if they do not see results "as promised by most of the ads out there" they give up within a couple of days or weeks, but what you have to realize is to let us say list your website it can take up to six weeks before it even get listed on some search engines, so no one has still seen your site because it is not listed yet, that is why you will need other methods as well to get known out there. I can not stress one fact more and that is to have a list to market to without a list you will not see results as expected it would take just that much longer to start seeing results. Mentors is very important as well if you do not get the support and assistance when you need it most you know you in the wrong program. Good luck and yes there are real people whom have real success http://www.elizepotgieter.info
