How can I get website traffic?

Feb 19 2010 Published by eranio under adwords

Someone help. I have created a new social network site but the problem is, I need traffic! I have tried everything including SEO, writing articles, joining in forums, opt-in-emails & yet, seem not to be driving in traffic. I’m aware that there are other alternative like google adwords but, I’m worried about the fees & in regards to getting traffic from other social networking sites, I feel that I shouldn’t because well, I don’t want other social networks to hear about my website because of rivalry purposes.
Please help, I don’t know what to do. I am tempted to try buying traffic as a last resort but they are most probably going to be scams.

Is This Business Doomed?

Feb 17 2010 Published by eranio under adwords

OK, maybe that’s a bit dramatic but I have just gone live with my new site www.iconkids.co.uk (plug!!), a children’s boutique.

I am using Adwords and have had about 30 visitors so far but no orders. The site has now been live for 2 days and I’m already a bit worried that no one is buying.

I am a newbie in online business and I need to know if this is normal.

Maybe check out my site and give me some suggestions as to what I can do to improve it. The site i quite basic but I am on a tight budget and everyone has to start somewhere.

Any other helpful advice would also be appreciated.
That’s a good idea but my suppliers won’t let me sell on ebay.
I’ve changed my privacy policy, added a returns policy and added my telephone number to the banner. How can I get add to basket icons next to all my products?

B&F Top Contributors: Is this solicitation?

Feb 15 2010 Published by eranio under adwords

Someone in business and finance asked "how do I make money online". I gave him an answer on how I do it, and I was reported. I tried to appeal it and they rejected my appeal (twice) and took 20 points from my account. I feel that it was top contributors who reported me because everytime I post anything in Business and Finance, it gets reported. I think that some of the Top Contributors automatically assume that it’s impossible to make money online. They think everything is a scam. I think people should be more careful when reporting answers in this section.
You tell me, was this answer solicitation, and HOW?

my answer:
"Start an online community, a mini myspace in other words or forum. I have a few dating sites and I use adwords to get members. The site is free and I only have about 800 members so far on my main site, but once I have more (about 5,000 or more), I will place ads on there and make money from the ads just like myspace does. There’s free software out there for social sites so after you install it, you just work on getting members to sign up. I use Google adwords to advertise mainly. My main site is an asian site so its cheaper for me to advertise since I only only show ads to people out of Asian countries. This is cheaper for advertising, but it also means I’ll make less once I place ads on there, because clicks from people in Asia don’t pay as well since they don’t buy as much online as Americans, Canadians etc. As far as selling domains, that’s not easy. I used to do it but it’s just getting harder now with the economy the way it is. But most of the people I sold domains to were other domain investors. Advertising is recession proof though. There is always people who are looking to advertise their businesses, even when the economy is bad. Another thing you can do is buy misspelled domains or domains you think you can park. I park domains and some have been pretty successful. There’s this one celebrity that just became real famous (realized I can’t say his name for certain reasons), and right around the time this was happening, I bought about 4 domain names that are misspellings of his name. Now people searching for his name on the internet who misspell it, end up at my parked page, where I have ads that some of them click on."
notice how I said "There’s free software out there". They got me so nervous just to mention any company other than Google in this section. I took extra precaution and was still reported.

Why?

How should I go about buying traffic or PPC without a credit card?

Feb 13 2010 Published by eranio under adwords

I think I am wasting my money with this new website that I found that delivers hits to my website. I would prefer to use google adwords because you Pay per click, but unfortunatley I do not have a credit card and Google doesn’t accept paypal as a payment method. Does anyone know of a traffic service with a similar structure as a pay per click system like Google. I don’t want to pay for useless traffic that get cycled back into my websites. These are mostly hits and rarely visitors and many repeat visitors in one day. Please help, I don’t want to waste money anymore, I want to make money.

Here is the website I am refering to, have a look and tell me if you thinks its a scam too.

Can Google ranking be bought?

Feb 12 2010 Published by eranio under adwords

This came up from a conversation with a friend.

He was very certain that any one website owner can pay to have their website rank higher in Google. I am not talking about Google AdWords on the right hand side, or the highlighted sponsored links on the top of the page.

I need clarification on this. As I always thought that Google ranking is based on many other factors, such as site content, quality of links, length of stay for each click, etc. but not for how much the website owner has paid Google.

What am I doing wrong with my online business?

Feb 06 2010 Published by eranio under adwords

I’ve been making handmade womens bags on and off for a couple years now.
I finally decided this is what I love doing and want to try to make a side job out of doing this.

About 1 1/2 weeks ago, I launched my a website hoping to get some good business.

www.jaggedlinebags.com

In the past couple weeks, I’ve gotten 550 website veiws and only one prospective customer, who did not end up buying anything. The only sales I’ve made with these bags are to friends and family.

I’m advertising mainly off craigslist and I just started google adwords. But I’m afraid I’ll get a ton of clicks and have to pay for them and not get a single customer.

Any suggestions on how to ‘capture’ more customers? Other advertising ideas? Any website modification ideas?

Any advice will help! Thanks!

Wondering which eCommerce host best integrates with the Google set of tools (adwords/analytics)?

Feb 04 2010 Published by eranio under adwords

I am currently being hosted by eCorner, and they’re terrible. I am not able to integrate Google Analytics into my site to have it track sales, the only thing they offer me to track is an order number, and the total price for that order, not the individual products and everything that Google is able to track. Trying to get support from eCorner is just as difficult, as soon as I ask a question, they’ll give me a quick explanation, and then start to say how I need to buy eTracker, or pay for them to make changes to my site…

Just wondering what eCommerce host’s people are using who are successfully able to integrate Google Analytics completely, or close to.

Thanks

What can I do to start making money on the Internet fast?

Feb 02 2010 Published by eranio under adwords

I need some genuine insight and details on how you got STARTED to making that first or 0 on the Internet. What are some real genuine and HONEST ways of making money on the Internet?

Please, don’t be vague like create blogs or websites with unique interesting content and earn money through affiliate marketing or contextual advertising (Adsense, Adbrite, YPN, etc). I really want details on how YOU got STARTED to become successful making money on the Internet.

Please do not recommend me filling out surveys or PTC (Paid-to-Click) sites. You can hardly make any decent money out of FREE surveys which takes a good amount of time just to make a lousy dollar. Believe me. I have tried with several "top notch" sites like CashCrate and others. I do not want to go this route.

I want to make a decent living off of the Internet working full time even putting in 10 additional hours every week.

Where can I do keyword research and search volume research to come up with niche ideas for websites? Overture Keyword Tool no longer exists. I need a good free keyword tool besides Google’s Adwords keyword tool. I heard Google’s keyword tool really doesn’t give accurate results. What did you do to come up with your niche ideas?

I assume most Internet entrepreneurs make money through multiple streams of Internet incomes through affiliate marketing, contextual advertising, multiple websites (sometimes in mass quantity) domaining (buying & selling domain names), Forex investing. List other ideas as well.

Thank you. I would really appreciate your help.
